i think that article was sws, but i agree it might have been sport fishing...i can't remember either. i loved the article because it was comprehensive and paid attention to variation among multiple samples of the same knots. i was totally sold after reading it and switched from a uni to uni to their suggestion of 12 turn Bimini twist to a 10 turn Yucatan leader. well i should say tried to switch. i tied at least 15 different connections and tested them all w/20 lbs of pull (50# line) and i couldn't get them to hold. they looked great but i couldn't figure out what i was doing wrong. my uni to uni holds 20lbs easy, and is a lot easier & faster to tie. oh well. |
