I have both and have had levelwinds fail at the wrong time. I will usually give the levelwind to inexperince angle for the same reasons Capt Dom said.
I find if you keep them lubed up, atleast a few times a season depending on use the are good for about 2-3years. But that is true about most maitenace issues with reels. The levelwind has plusses and minus but just like was said before it depends on the type of fishing. |
