I'm Gonna Be Busy

I got a call from the local freight terminal that my pallets arrived this morning.
All 3663 pieces of them....
Many will be cut in two so the actual count is significantly more than that.
No corners to cut off, clear as can be, kiln dried and ready to spin. I think I'm in Heaven

Wow, you must have a huge demand, for your lures! Good for you!

What kind of wood? Maple? Birch?, Beech?

Hard to tell from picture, but I would guess one of those three.

Wishful thinking on my part. The price was right.
It's soft maple.

A jig.... I use jigs for everything. With such a consistent diameter it will be a lot easier than what I was doing before. At least I hope it will be...

These cost only a fraction of the AYC I was buying. It's even cheaper than the still green Atlantic white cedar I was buying in the rough. I still had to plane, joint and rip that stuff. Oh, I had to let it dry and then I needed to cull out the checked and knotted pieces.

Never again.....

This source had hard maple, beech, cherry, ash and this soft maple. Problem is ya have to buy it by the pallet. Freight costs more then the product. If it weren't so far, I would drive there to get it instead.

Jay, you know that center finder you gave me? Flip it over to the side that doesn't go on a squared piece of stock, strike a line and rotate it about 45 degrees. Do that two more times. For some reason when I tried that I hIt the center. Hey, what do I know???? Oh, BTW, I'll stop by with the pickup...you don't have room for all that wood!!!
