Joey Spooks

After doing some testing yesterday and being told by knowledgable builders, I learned that a spook isn't a spook if it's weighted a certain way. As soon as I casted my test plugs It was obvious, as the other builders had told me, the difference between a spook and a Glider. Same body, different weight orientation produced a different swimming action. My goal though, was to make a nice walk the dog spook. So I went home
and made a couple more with the weight all in the tail.

I've got to tell you... that recessed eye socket really adds to the lure. In particular, I love the profile it has from below. Surprised that from above the birds aren't attacking it.

A couple googly eyes would really hit the mark. I think you just inspired me.... I'm gonna have to try something.

BBL, I'm also likin' that look. Neat shape around the eyes. I've done that to a few spook-type plugs, but not that pronounced..I like it...another thing I like is the simplicity of the paint. Nice fade into the white. Just about my favorite color schemes! I posted some pics on another thread, you can see what I mean by my "favorite"...LOL

It's fun doing the paint jobs with all the fancy colors but when you asked guys who do alot of fishing what colors they prefer i's usually the simple basic colors they like. The redhead always seems to be a favorite.
