You are sharp! That should have stated for every foot of rod there is one guide.
That is basically a rule of thumb. By your post I know that you are fine tuned into the guide layout process.
You mentioned teaching youth rod building. Did I read that correctly? Do you do it at a school district? I am interested in what and how you do this. A nice human interest story.
Here in NY State I can not teach rod building to school children as part of the school function. I thought they might let me as part of an after school program like a club. I do not have a teaching certificate so that leaves me out. Oh well, at least I thought it was a good idea.
Just a thought. Some of the rod companies have programs to work with schools. You can get supplies, components and equipment at very good reduced prices.
