The state seems GungHo to push through 7124 as it means more money (TAX) for them, yet at the same time have done absolutely NOTHING with bill #6561 to increase the number of Encon Police officers. Make sense? Let's see, if there are many thousands of licenses(SWL) to check, not to mention OUT OF STATE boats, I wonder just who these people DEP/Legislature think are going to enforce this? I can see two boats patrolling the line NY/CT and the NY/RI/CT intsection near Fishers Island.
DEP has now at least become a little honest and put the reason for the SWL is to raise revenue. Perhaps dumping some of the higher paid DEP pencil pushers and would save some money and certainly aggrivation for us all. It would also give them a few bucks to hire some more, needed EP officers.
*end of editorial....
