Chesapeake Spawners On The Move | | Many of us have been fishing C&R for over a month for stripers in the Chesapeake, but it has only been in the last few weeks that we have been catching many ocean run fish. It's easy to tell the ocean fish because of the sea lice. Last Sunday a friend and I caught 12 stripers over 30" at one of the power plant discharges. The largest fish was 40" and 25#. All fish were caught on jigs. Meanwhile, several of my friends have been doing well trolling up some nice fish. So the striper run is on the way here in the bay. Won't be long till they are out of here and on there way north to the rest of you. |
