Chesapeake Spawners On The Move

Many of us have been fishing C&R for over a month for stripers in the Chesapeake, but it has only been in the last few weeks that we have been catching many ocean run fish. It's easy to tell the ocean fish because of the sea lice. Last Sunday a friend and I caught 12 stripers over 30" at one of the power plant discharges. The largest fish was 40" and 25#. All fish were caught on jigs. Meanwhile, several of my friends have been doing well trolling up some nice fish. So the striper run is on the way here in the bay. Won't be long till they are out of here and on there way north to the rest of you.

That is sounding good. We are putting in a new ducer this weekend and plan to be out on the bay trolling for Rock as we ready the Round-Tuit for another offshore year

I found the Stripers here so you must have sent some up. Thanks.

Now please keep the Fluke, seas trout, and Blue Crabs happy until I get there next month.

Can’t wait to eat some fresh raw Fluke and have a nice Crab bake. Be down the last week in June. I’ll have to send my clam guy note at cherry Stone. GREAT bunch of guys there with a fantastic operation.

You'll have a bast down there at Cherrystone. Was just down at Kiptopeake last weekend for Red Drum and the fishing is getting pretty hot down there. We caught 18 Red Drum to 50# in two nights of fishing. Will be back down next week for Cobia and drum again. Flounder is a little slow right now, but should heat up. Good luck
