Ri. Fluke Regs.

Does anybody know what came out of the meeting for RI.'s new fluke regs.?
On anyother site I saw the options that were going to be voted on and they all sucked. One of them was the season was not going to open until June 24.

I live in W. MASS. so going to the meeting was out of the question.

Haven't heard RI or NY yet. Think they're waiting until summer is half over.
Went to meeting for CT and what the people that went to it wanted (narrowed to two choices) wasn't what the state went with anyway. Go figure.
If I hear I'll post it here.

I don't think there are any regs yet.

That meeting last Monday was a public hearing as far as I know and was for input. Based on what I read on DEM's site, no decision would actually be made there.

I was supposed to go to the meeting but something came up.

And yes, just about every option completely SUCKED on the list!

Tautog didn't seem to be nearly as drastic.

Wouldn't it be nice if these state/fed agencies had deadlines that had to be met, like a real business?
One of my pet peeves. They should be working on 2008 regs now.

This is what happened at the meeting

Summer Flounder (fluke)
19 inches
7 fish per day
May 18 to September 16

Still has to be approved by DEM, but I don't see why they won't. This is most likely what we are living with.

No changes to tautog.
