Muson Canyon

Does anyone went after tunas or sharks at the Muson Canyon? There's all over 65 degree. My boat is in Montauk. I want go to the Muson Canyon before I take my boat to Rockaway Inlet. I heard a few boats will go to the Hudson Canyon on Sat. I know theu will not catch tunas, but maybe they will catch tiles.

Do you mean Munson Canyon?

Dude, that's hundreds (300?) of miles to the east/SE of Montauk.

There is some warmish water ( a filiment broken off from the stream) pushing up at the deep end of the hudson, but I haven't heard any reports from there. By the look of the water, the 1000 fathom line at Tom's is the best choice at the moment, but a long putt from montauk. It'll be a few weeks yet before the water is even to atlantis, let alone block.

Munson is barely reachable for even the large guys out of RI......The only boats that can feasibly hit Munsons fish out of nantucket...

That water up there is grey green, leftover water that is not connected to the stream, and highly unlikely that it holds any tuna

gerg has it right, in that the only really decent looking water is out in the deep of Tom's, Spencer, etc... Still a mighty hike from LI....That water will likely hold some nice BFT though, as well as some big makos. Oceans and Veatch dropped from 51 degrees to 49 last week(brrrr), and the stream is still way out past the shelf, so likely will be 2nd week of June before we see any real efforts from Hudson east that will produce......

Haha, I thought Munson Canyon is closer to Montauk PT. Believe it or not, I never fish Montauk before. I will take my boat to home on Monday. Thanks for let me know. I'll wait until the water turns warm and clear water.

Confirmed a report of a 411 pound porbeagle today up off Jeffries ledge!! With this warm weather and rapidly rising surface temps, the makos will be here in two weeks, maybe less........

Yeah, I heard someone out of montauk went fish at the Hudson Canyon. I think its not worth go out and catch schoolie Bluefin Tuna. I'd rather catch longfin than schoolie bluefin.

Finally, my boat is at Rockaway Inlet.
My crew and I am ready for shark tournament. We will fish Freeport Hudson Angler Shark tournament. I can't wait.

411lb Porbegale? That's big shark! Yesterday, I was at 20 fathom and the water temp is around 63. I bet there are some Thresher shark and many damn dog fish.
