Squid Rig issues.

We have discovered that we have a problem with some of our squid rigs. One of our 2 bench crimpers had come out of adjustment and we have had several crimps pull while fighting fish. I had two crimps pull on my boat on Monday and have had two other reported failures by customers. After checking and re-checking I found that one of my bench crimpers settings had changed and we were not getting complete crimps on the mainline. After losing two nice fish myself I have spent the last three days re-testing and re-setting the crimpers. Corey and I have spent all night re-rigging all the squid bars in the shop so from here on out we are all set. I am asking all of my customers who have purchased squid bars in the last 2 months to please bring them back to the shop so we can re-crimp the mainline. Most of the bars will be fine but I have no way of knowing which bars were crimped on which bench crimper so we would be happy to re-crimp any bar that was bought in the last few months. This will only take about 5 mins. We are very sorry for this problem but I feel it is much better to step up and say that we have identified this problem early on in the season so we can fix it now. Tools wear out and settings change, we want to assure you that this will not happen again and we have a new program installed to check our two crimpers every week. We are very sorry for this situation and we hope that you, our customer will understand this situation and stand by us as we work it out. Please feel free to call us at 508-240-0778 with any questions and we can also guide you in solving this problem yourself. If you own a good pair of hand crimpers we can instruct you in the correct way to fix this issue yourself. Thank you very much for your understanding. Capt. Eric Stewart
