| Bonito off Martha's Vineyard On the edge and I were at the inshore thing again Sat 8-11 on his proline. We started out @ hedge fence with bait, bluefish and bonito. We landed 2 bones along with a dozen blues in the 6 lb class. Fishfinder was lit up with life. Tide died out so we did a little exploring to the south around cape poge and zippo for life. Steamed further south towards the hooter and came across some life on the flats. Picked up 2 more bones and 1/2 dozen bluefish. Ran back towards home and stopped by hedge again to find the absolute opposite of the am tide. Zero. Nothing on the fishfinder. Called it a day and pulled the traps for a couple bugs for dinner. All in all a lot of fun on freshwater tackle. The bones loved mackeral ziggy jigs and green fastracs. ![]() ![]()

Years ago we had plenty 'o bones and albies right on the beach, but the fence is short enough ride. I anchored and drifted sand eels, got two on Sun 'bout crack 'o noon. You guys might have seen me. I'll try to load pic of boat( on land this spring) . If you see me come along side to chat!! ![]() ![]() |

| Sjog, We'll definetely stop by to say hello to a fellow nbs guy. I love the hedge canyon reference too. That's classic. We'll be back out there when the weather doesn't allow us offshore. On the edge, I think it's time for some bigger tuner on some heavier gear. ![]()

| Briscrit, We treat them like the tuna they are and troll small jigs and swimmers for them. We fish 4 rods - 2 off rodriggers and 2 flatlined off the stern. We troll anywhere from 3 to 5 knots depending on tide and current. Long baits are 150' back and flatlines are 30' back. Main line is 8lb test with 10lb fluoro leaders. As with their bigger brothers you've got to fish where there is life and structure. You've gotta weed thru the blues to get them but they are there. Good luck - they are a lot of fun. Can't wait till the albies show up.
