| 8/14-8/15 We ran out to the 100 fathom line of the tails. I had a few good reports from friends and jb tackle. I want to thank jb for the help we had with one of your broken rods. They hooked us up on a few fish as well. Im not sure one hundred percent where we where. Put I can say this. The troll was very slow. We landed 1 long fin on a loopy lure. Lost 3 others. It was pretty quiet. We when around 8 picked a bouy and tied off to it chunking with butters. Hooked baits live bait squide butters and sardines. Nothing hit the butters. It all came off of frozen squide. Yo yo. We where in 525 feet of water. By one am **** hit the fan. We had doubles on after doubles. We kept 13 yellows to 80 lbs. With the boxes full it was time to catch and release. We had two fish jigged up on butter fly jig. I grabbed the leader and the jig to let gfot the 45 lbs yellow. When the hok went threw my finger. I gave it a quick yank and pulled it out. Ouch. That was it the lines all came out. We waited for the sun to come up. I tired to call a few boats in the area to see if anyone wanted to drift by the boat. With no answers. I let it go. We pulled off the high flyer and ran home. We got about a mile north of the tails and we had engine troubles. I took us 13 hrs to get home. We had ho penn at the dock when we got back. With finger still in tacked and our engine fixed we are ready to go again in a week or so. Totol fish taken one mahi 1 albie and 13 yellows. Lost and released fish im not sure i can count that high. |

| All i heard all night was we are marking them 75 feet down. Ok. Well after about 4 hours of that.I couldn't take it any longer. I got on the horn and called to see if i could get a boat that drifted by me. With no answer i tried again and said i gots fish in the box and fish in the lights. They flipped out for about a half hour. Then all quiet and we headed for the barn. |
