After the big blow this saturday and our plans to get out east for
BFT were squashed

we figured we would head out for our second trip for shark south of MV on Sunday.
Got to Falmouth Harbor a little before 7:00 only to find the ramp Blocked by some unfourturnate sole's 19' CC that had slid off the trailer about 50' before he reached the water while splashing his boat

.. The police were on scene and a wrecker had been called so we stuck around to see how he made out..It took about an hour to get the boat back on the trailer and the ramp cleared. 5 mins later we were in the water and on our way.
Trolled around vinyard sound for the better part of and hour for some live blues but all we could muster up was 2 huge bonito...
Satrday we were in the same place looking for bonito and only caught blues... GO FIGURE. Well we had some fresh Blues on ice from the day before so off we went with out live bait..
Plan was ot head to the claw but we were diverted by the coasties who were doing "LIVE FIRE" Excersizes south of Nomans Island so we figured we would stay way out of the way and headed down towards the fingers....
Found our spot, Deployed the chum, Set the 3 rod spread and sat and waited. And Yes We did use one of the bonito as bait. I Put him on the middle rod butterflied!!!
Well about 2 1/2 hours go by before we get our first runnoff on the far rod but no joy. When we got the bait back to the boat a little PUP Mako about 30" had chased the butterflied bluefish bait and grabbed it 20 feet from the boat. This little spit fire gave us one heck of and arial show and then came unbuttoned gust as we got it boat side.

Another 30 mins and another runoff on the short rod and Hoopa Drives the Boat makes short work of a 150 lb Blue. Fish released and all rods reset. While setting the last rod the middle one goes off but got dropped so we never got a chance for a hook set.
With the rods all set another hour goes by and the far rod goes off again. I grab the rod let it eat a bit and then Cross his eyes,, FISH ON!!!
2 Mins Later FISH OFF!!! 30 seconds later FISH BACK ON!! 45 seconds later FISH OFF!! 30 Seconds Later FISH BACK ON!! This fish was on again off again 5 times

. The last time it was 50' from the boat and we were able to see it was a Mako. Not real big but definately a keeper.. It was a short fight on a 50VSW and he never got air, 15 mins we had him tailed roped bleading and swimming backwards behind the boat.. Game over for him..

We had just put out fresh block of chum before the mako hit and it was not to late so we desided to fish a while longer and let the mako Expire. We reset the spread and while Chris was setting the the close rod i noticed the far baloon and the middle baloon were getting closer and closer together. I grabbed the long rod, reel in some slack and HELLO Fish on. Sneaky little bastard swam up the slick and took both the long bait and the middle bait.
Well tag team he wanted tag team he got. Chris and i Put the Screws to this guy and with in about 15 mins we had a 300 pound class Blue shark boatside. He did not seem to like the boat much and did a few quick runs but tied to 2 50VSW's He did not go far and didnt do it much.. We cut him loose at boat side and it swam off to fight another day...
Total for the day was 1 mako 69"CFL 139 lbs, 1 pup mako 30", 1 - 150 pound blue shark, 1 nice 300 pound blueshark, @ 2 bonito that never make it to our table but made really good bait.
All in all a really good day on the water, We had some great fishing, and kept the MOJO going with our first mako of the season ..
