Trollin' not tube 'n' worm Lots of play on the tube. Some on umbrellas. I used to have good luck with 3 oz. Smilin' Bills on wire in the rips off the shores near Niantic, CT and at the Race. Jig 'n' pig with pork rind. What is working for you?

3/4 - 2 oz Smilin Bills w/4-5 inch curltail in white, white/red, yellow and chartreuse. No trebles in the net (or fingers) and MUCH cheaper than those big swimming plugs.

plugmeister, Are you using wire? I am experimenting with full sinking fly line instead of wire. 10 foot leader, fly line, dacron backing. Jury is still out. I have it on my best reel, Daiwa 30SHV, while the wire is on Penn 113HSP, and a Penn 349 Master Mariner. The Daiwa is a step above the two Penns. So my judgment may be influenced by the reel. I like the lighter weight of the fly line setup. Your statement seems to negate your 'handle', jigs instead of plugs. I agree with you about the cost, and I use jigs often. It also makes for an enjoyable winter activity, casting lead-head jigs.
