| Bonito Report Left out of Warwick at 6am and headed down the Bay to hopefully run into those little Tuna again. Didn't see a thing on the surface the entire ride down the bay through Jamestown so we kept heading South. Just as we arrived about 2 miles Northeast of Point Judith Light House there were birds and bait everywhere but no fish visible. This was the same exact area that I found them last weekend and with this much bait around I knew it wouldnt be long before something would happen.... Sure enough a few minutes later I see fish hammering and rolling all over the surface. We blast over and immediately triple up on feisty 10lb blues. Had some fun with them for a while and then we see our first school of Bonito.... For the next 5 hours there were about 5 or 6 schools of busting Bonito working an area about the size of .5 mile. Luckily they were not as picky this week and we were able to pull at least one fish out almost everytime we got in front of them. Little and Medium Yozuri swimmers, Kastmasters, Deadly Dicks, and a Yozuri sand eel looking lure all produced well. The highlight of this trip for sure was when my two friends were casting off the bow and one of them yells "Dorado".......Since we were about 2 miles off of the Narragansett coast I figured no way.....I glance over the side and sure enough a Mahi is swimming right beside the boat in 67 degree water. First time in my life I had ever seen a Dorado inshore in Rhode Island waters so I was pumped! We saw them three other times as well that day and I tried throwing some squid at them and we fired our lures in front of them but could not hook up. These were not little peanut Mahi either. I saw at least one small school with fish that were in the teens definately! There were also different schools of Blue Fish that were working this area the whole time as well. One small boat next to us caught a False Albie but we didnt hook one the entire day. This was the second week in row that I have fished this area mainly by myself with at times one or two other boats. ![]() Final Tally for the day was 30 bonito and countless Blues. 3 different Dorado sightings and a big Sun Fish for good measure. The amount of bait around is unbelievable. I felt like I was on Stellwagon Bank yesterday. Below is a pic of one of my buddies with his first Boney ![]() Good Luck Everyone! Brian Droney ALBATROSS |

| Nice day out there. Wish I could have gotten out earlier to see some action like that. Eric: Sore body from catching shark or from a beating on the way there and back? I ventured out yesterday afternoon and it wasn't pretty. Had my son with me. I really need an enclosure.... |

![]() It was beautiful out there, as you'll see in my report pics! "Fortier" and "Beating" can't usually be used in the same sentence anyway ![]()
