Sunday 9-9

I had a 3 man trip for porgies on sunday. I got to the boat about an hour early to get the gear ready. I was happy to see calm conditions in the harbor. I made a call to captain Mike of SunBum charters who was already on the water with his group. He answered the phone "3 footers Capt and 4s on the reef." So we head out in the calm harbor, cleared the walls and found the choppy water. I gave the people the option of booking another day or just tough it out. they wanted to fish. It was wind againt the tide so I anchored up. Now we are taking the waves in the side . The fishing was pretty good but there were alot of shorts and no jumbos. after about an hour and a half of rock and rolling I ran a few miles to another reef looking for the jumbos. The conditions there were alot better . The fishing was pretty much none stop but still alot of shorts and no jumbos.
the wind finally die down at the end of the trip and it got pretty nice out there. So what the hell I asked them if they wanted to stay out another couple of hours. They jump on that offer pretty quick!!!
We must have caught over 300 fish but only ended up with 90 in the cooler and 4 very nice sea bass.

Cool

Even though you had a rough start it sounds like it ended up pretty good .Not bad 94 fish in the cooler.Sounds like they will be eating porgys for a while. Was wondering if you got marcos e mail.We are trying to figure out a date to book you for a full day of bass, blacks and porgys.I'm hitting baldwin tomorrow night.I'm going to try to get fresh bunker or shad any suggestions?I'm on a mission to get a 40 pounder.

I got the email. it was in my spam folder. there wasnt a subject on it and somehow it ended up in there. I already eamiled him and told him what happened. I have to keep a closer eye on that.

Bunker is hard to come by. but there is that small school in the west river, where I told you a couple of weeks ago. the shad are in the same spots also.
as far as the 40, my money is on mid october. its pretty slow right now.
my last trip with philly doug ended up with 2 and we traveled many miles for them.
ill try to stop and see you on the rocks.
I have a few plugs to test

Chuck, the scup is not the only thing heading for the fryer my friend. You may want to get your head down in your burrow.
