Smile Togs 9/24

Got out with a couple friends today. The bite was definately on.
hit one of the area reefs using green crabs about 8am.
We had our limits by 9. Tried for some sea bass but didn't find anything
but porgies and more hungry togs.
Gonna hit it again tomorrow.

Thanks everyone!
Just started fishing for these two falls ago and am hooked.
What a difference a day makes though.
Got out with a friend today and the reef was a bit bumpy for us
to anchor out and enjoy it. The predicted weather 15 and gusts to 20 seemed to hit earlier than we'd read and with wind against the tide it was a bit sporty.
So after looking at two other spots that were just as rough, we hit the wall for an hour or so.
Two fish broke us off in the rocks (power pro and we hadn't put on long leaders figuring we'd be on the wall) and only one fish boated approx. 4lbs.
We used hermits, green and asian crabs.
Will try again real soon I'm sure.

Bob, I lost two decent-sized fish on Power-Pro on Saturday. Immediately after hook-set it failed badly on an edge of a rock. Very frustrating, the stuff is amazing for feeling that little tug but I am def. going to start using some leader.....maybe five feet plus the rig.

Thats amazing that the PP cut off so easily . When you want to cut it you cant.I have that gorilla line on a rod with about 10 feet of ande # 50 leader seems to help with the cut offs .You have got to check it every now and again as it gets scuffs in it .
