I actually saw very few Jeeps when I was out there. Most people had full size vehicles. There were some Jeep Cherokees out there though. I don't think you can go wrong with a Bronco. There are some really nice 3/4 ton and 1 ton modified trucks out there carrying slide in campers. Flotation is the key. You need to ride on top of the sand. You may be able to fit the 31's on stock rims. I had them on my stock rims. I think you can put them on 7.5" wide rims. I had 15x 7.5 steel and then 15 x 8" aluminum later on.
