December - the new Captain Hook

Capt. Ron Hamlin at the helm of his new "ride" a 40ft Cabo Flybridge, the Captain Hook started the season off with a bang. In the last few days the boat has released 12 blue marlin and 24 sails. One blue est at 450-lbs tried to boat itself on the third jump.

They christened the Captain Hook running it from Long Beach to Guatemala. But that wasn't the first fish that was caught. Ronnie fished the Presidential with several of our friends about a month ago.

Tom Paul report

Our client, Tom Paul and friends, fished with Capt. Hamlin over the weekend (13 thru 15 Dec) and have this to report:

Day One: They went looking for Blue Marlin, finding only a few, baited and hooked three, releasing two up to 400-lbs. Since they targeted the marlin, the schools of sails were far away.

Day Two: Today, they went charging after the sails, found them 28 miles offshore in a pack of boats. Released 20 out of 38 fish.

Day Three: Went after the sails again, releasing 18 out of 31 fish

Three day total: 2 for 3 Blues and 38 for 69 sails.

It just keeps getting better every day:

Capt. Hamlin had the Dave & Arlene Ribler on board, these past two days (19 & 20 Dec). They are very experienced anglers and have done far better this year than in the last five. 23 sails released the first day and 31 the second day with two shots at blues.

Clients, Dave & Arlene Ribler, continued their good luck fishing the last two days on the "old" Hook, renamed the Circle Hook with Capt. Bairez. They released 80 sails and 1 black marlin (21 & 22 Dec). The four day total was 134 sails and 1 black.
