Capt. Dale I can tell you first hand, Once you get past the breakwater at Port Everglades, you have nothing to run into.!!
No Rocks, no Islands (save Bimini) . You have a inlet to ICW about every 10 miles and the rest is SAND.
Just check out a chart and you will see a chart about 3" wide and about 5' long. Straight line.
