SALINAS, ECUADOR

Hi All,
Been here now, about 2 months putting finishing touches on new rig, at present Salinas billfishing is as good as it was 20 yrs ago, before the longliners wiped it out. Oct and Nov were really good, have seen dozens of DEAD marlins caught by tourists who did not know better ,but the majority of the charter boats have been releasing all billfish, maybe just maybe, I might have ,made a difference, with all the individuals I pissed off by trying to educate them ,time will tell. Capt Fouad Sultan has charter operation here and has been knocking the stripeys dead, there is a hint of posssibly a recovery in the fishery here ,which at one time was great. Cannot wait to get back to Galapagos and put new rig in operation, happy holidays and tight lines to all you ice fisherman.

Thumbs up Thank you

Keep up the good work Capt. Allen. Also send pics of the new ride when you get a chance.

We're having trouble figuring out domestic flight schedules for a return trip. If you have any info, don't hesitate to send it.
Thanks,
Hunter

Hey Alan------------I'll see you next month in Galapagos. I'm bringing Scott Segal who won the IGFA Rolex Marlin Tournament out of Cabo in '05 and in '06. He loves marlin fishing and can't wait to fish on your boat. We're on the way, Captain............Jeff Morrow

Well like I said , I did not piss off enought people, artesenal fisherman in santa rosa unloaded this new year 2nd day,433 striped marlin very dead, 188 sailfish and a couple of them way over world record class,300 lbs plus, also very dead. Capt sultan dog day charters, still is knocking the socks off and releasing for another day, report for 2 days ago 4 blue ones up to 400 lbs 8 stripeys, and a 150 lb wahoo it was used. The fishing is the best here in 20 years how long it will last at current fishing pressure, your guess is as good as mine.happy new year. Next report will be from Galapagos.
