16' boat for sale

I have a lowe 16' utility v (side console) with a johnson 25 hp 4 stroke(electric trim and tilt) for sale. boat is an 05 and motor is an 04. boat and motor both bought new in 06. the motor is still under waranty untill feb of 09 and is transferable. both are in excellent condition. i'm asking $6000 obo for boat, motor, trailer. there are many extras that will be included in this price. just drop me a pm or call my cell (860)324-8936 and leave a message. i'll try to post some pics later that show more of the boat than what you see in my avatar.

I would definitly like to upgrade to a larger boat some time in the next few years but for now i'd like to get back to my roots and back into a yak. I've been checking out these bassyak systems for kayaks and I simply must have one. I miss the quiet mornings bass or fluke fishing at great island or quonnie pond in my old palmico. Don't get me wrong, I love getting out in the boat but its much more economical for me at this point in my life to sell her than it is to keep her. I fugure if I can't keep the boat right now I still have to be able to get out on the water some how and a yak it the cheapest way i've ever found in comparison to owning a boat. before I got the lowe I used to fish twotree in a 12 foot palmico. not much will stop me from getting out there except my budget.

When you get your yak, and if you fish the Old Saybrook area at all, give me a yell.
I'll give you a couple spots that most can't get too but will be worth your trouble.....niantic sleigh rides LOL.

You are a man after my own heart. I could not afford a big ride that eats up fuel like it is going out of style so I tried a cheap yak I purchased at West Marine. It was sort of useless to try and do anything in her so I had to find something better. I went to Shearwater boats (they advertise in Wooden Boat) with the plans for a 70 year old design by William Adkins that I found in an old "Motor Boating" book. It was actually a ketch, but all I wanted was a narrow, flat bottom rowboat, that would pull easy, have five inches of draft when loaded, and stable enough so I could stand in it and pull lobster and scup pots. Shearwater built it for me using a stitch and glue technique, which is a one-off method of construction. The first test I gave her was to stand on the side decking to see if she would flip. She was far more stable than I ever could have hoped for even with her four foot beam. I think two grown men could not have cause her to flip. She goes well with an electric outboard and I love to sneak up on fish in the shallows with oars. Shearwater got started by manufacturing custom strip build kayaks. I felt if they could produce kayaks so beautiful that one could put one of them in their their living room for decoration, they would have no problem in putting together a plywood rowboat. The biggest expense I have concerning her is the DEP requires that I register her each year as a commercial fishing boat since I pull fish pots with her.
