We have used octopus style hooks in size 6/0 for cod, haddock, pollock and cusk tied with droppers or using crossline swivels with success. I use sharp right out of the box Gamakatsu style 02416 and Eagle Claw L226BLK. You can get the Gama hooks in red if you prefer. These hooks have a turned up eye which makes it easier to snell. I get my Gamakatsu hooks in a 24 pack from Shark River Mail order (SRMO) for under 7 bucks. These hooks are SHARP. |
