Upgrade Zeebass or 2008 Stellas for BFT | | I see that they (Plat) are taking orders for the 2008 Shimano Stellas delivery in April @ 110,000 Yen (nearest I can figure $1,100.00). I was thinking of getting one for school BlueFin Tuna . . . but now I'm thinking I might be better off upgrading my ZB2 to a ZB2.75. Also looks like they have changed the 10000 and added a new model 18000.
What do you think upgrade or drop a large wad of money on the Stellas?
Up grading from the ZX2 to the ZX 2.75 would cost about $450.00. Further I fish more from the surf than I do from charters, or on my buddies boat. I could go either way, but I don't want to put a huge dent into my discretionary funds.
Finally, I have this rod which is rated for 20 lbs, of drag which would be only 50 percent of the ZB2.75 capacity. So what to do? - rod too light? - reel gear ratio too low?
