New to site and North Shore question

Found out about this site from Terry of Riptide Charters at the MSBA Expo this past Sunday (sorry I missed the "Riptide Girls" on Saturday )

Seems like a really good site and look forward to adding it to my normal rotation of sites I am checking out when I am supposed to be working.

Now for my North Shore Question: My parents live right on the Danvers River (in Beverly) and have been telling me they have been seeing lots of bird activity and lots of "swirls", etc on the river some mornings the last week or so. I have not had a chance to head over there myself to check it out yet. Could there be schoolies chasing bait fish this early in the year? A friend thinks they could be king mackeral. Any thoughts? I am going to try to get over there one of the mornings this week with a rod and see what's going on (weather permitting).

EDIT: I see I probably should have posted this over in the "In-Shore Fishing" section! Sorry.

Got to agree with don a bit early for macks. My guess would be Herring Maybe some holdover schoolie stripers. Heard from another board that the first herring scouts have shown up in the middleboro run this week..

Its getting closer. Common spring!!!!
