I tie the trailer hook on with a regular snell knot. The forward hook, which I actually tie on first I use the same snell knot but I use a separate piece of line wrapped around the main leader so it slides back and forth and is somewhat adjustable. Although I have found the adjustability is really not that big of a deal if you keep the hooks about 4" or so apart. Here is a pick I found on-line about the snell knot but it is much easier than it looks.
