What have you got to say about the topic of: "umbrella rigs". Here's how is started: "Does anyoe troll the umbrella rigs that have all the flashy spinner blades in front "

| umbrella rigs Does anyoe troll the umbrella rigs that have all the flashy spinner blades in front of the shads, squids or tubes? I've seen them at the shows and want to know if they produce any better than the plain ones that have been around for years? Thanks.

| Those spinner blades have been used on umbrellas forever, and used to work well. However, I haven't used them in years. I use either shad rigs or tube rigs with no spinners, rigging only 5, not the typical 9.

| yes and no, it all depends on where you are fishing for the bass/blues. some areas the spinners attract more and in others either all tubes, or all shads work better. |

| I only use them with spinners when I am up in the Providence river, tea brown water...I use the gold spinners on white shad bodies(chandelier style) I avoid using the spinners anywhere else as they attract the bluefish pretty well. ![]()

| I have used both with and without the spinners with mixed results. There is a company in Ma (I actually used to sell tackle for) that makes Spider Rigs. The guy that owns the compnay isn't my favorite but he makes a great rig. They sell the "Spider Rigs" at a couple of different shops in RI. I dont think he's in CT yet but you can get his rigs at Boats US or Boaters Wolrd, or at least you used to be able to, and local shops in MA like Monahans Marine in Weymouth. SC |
