North Shore

Poked around at one of my early season beaches this afternoon.

Tried some rubber shads and bucktails for an hour.

It was a great day to try anyway, and you got it. More power to you. I was in the office all day, indoors, with lovely flourescent lighting and cubicle moles everywhere.

Yeah, it was beautiful out.

Still have that chill in the air down by the water.

No wind, sun was out.

The Riverhead and Shinecock area has produced some schoolies. The Quouge canal has had a few flounders for friends of mine. I noticed real small bait fish and plankton in the sound from Mattituck to Orient. Should be about three weeks till the squid show up.

I've never surf casted west of Riverhead except when I was in high school and lived in nassau county. Then I fished Little Neck and Manhasset bay. I fish mostly the two forks and Riverhead.

Took another ride down to CM after shipping some orders.

Same thing, casted an hour or so.

Zip.

What a CRAZY NICE day.

I actually have sunburn on my face a little.

Soon enough.

Hit Crab Meadow for an hour and a half this morning.

Tried from the mouth of the creek all the way back.

Tossed some bucktails, shads and Fin-S.

No life at all.

Water was dirty from the east wind.

Try again tomorrow.

Its funny in years past I would have jumped in the car after yard work and hit a couple of beaches and inlets. This year with the price of gas I will not go prospecting. My trips will be planned, many will be on the way to or from job sites. I will not be going far in the boat either. I Bush can feel my pain.:Bang Head:
