Squid bust, tog side bet...

Had a very nice crew from NY looking for the squid, but despite motoring all over creation, we only managed 1 squid in the boat, and he came from 90 feet of water 2 miles out. There were a few small pods of squid well outside the bay, but the main body of squid is nowhere to be seen yet. Give it a few more days, and they'll show up in droves.

We did manage to yoke on the tog, and put a 5 man limit in the boat in time, including one 10 pound 7 ounce specimen. Most of the fish were on the large size again, and alot were released to fight another day.

Water temps ranged from a balmy 46.3 degrees to a high of 46.9 degrees throughout. Water depths were 23-37 feet, didn't matter, they chewed their fool heads off.

Dom, If you wouldn't mind could you fill us in on what you are using to squidfish that deep??

I have caught squid off the docks using regular jigs but you can usually see the jig. Just curious to the setup you are using to get those guys that deep.
Thanks.
