What did he use, a couple pineapples with sinkers taped to them and a cast net?? LOL

Damn that's a lot of squid......sure he didn't mean 167 squid?

(BTW, back in the day, the above method worked well on pogies when we used them for Giant fishing )

I think Im remember that boat. The GI bridge sounds like it gets too crowed and it seems that you do better at the Newport bridge. We scouted around in years past and always ended back at the newport bridge. With prices now there isn,t much scouting but it is an early venture to get the boat in the water and work out the bugs.
Going out again Saturday night and hopefully the squid will co-operate.
I'll watch for you "Maille".

You coming up this way striper?

Maille, you gonna be out too?

I'll be heading over there Sat night......probably start early, fish late, spend some time there before the weather turns to shit.

You can spend SEVERAL HOURS with nothing or only 1/2 dozen, but then they can turn ON big-time!!! You don't really know when, but you have to be there......

Can't catch 'em sitting on your couch at home!

Leaving Norwich @17:30 to put in at Fort adams and get to the bridge and settle in around dark. Will be at the Newport bridge so if it rains we just pull in some anchor and nesstle under the bridge for cover. Have been lucky so far and hasn't been needed, but anchor up close to that local anyway. Usually stick around until the fog rolls in. Like I said before always a good time hopefully this time we'll get some squid.
Going out yourself or fishing from the bridge? (Formula or Maillle)

Just missed you on the squid fish site. See you there.

Copied from the Squidfish site:
See you watch this site (for a little while anyway) also. Se ya Sat nite. If I don't see you at the Newport yell at me near the GI bridge. I can't say I'll swing through for sure but on the way back to tthe launch is a good bet.

Eric,

I was N of the GI bridge on Wednseday, next to the Newport bridge.

Eric, Striper,

I am planning to go tonight with my wife and another couple. I wanted to try by Ft Getty cause I have some other interests over that way that I need to tend to. I was even thinking of trying under the jamestown bridge. Also I put in at wilson park in wickford and the run to newport has been burning a bit of fuel.

Not sure where we will go yet. But I should be out from 7ish to 10ish.
Boats name is Jersey Girl and I usually monitor ch 68.

If I make it to Newport I'll keep an eye out for both of you. Otherwise hail me on the radio.
Good Luck!

Steve

Steve,

Yeh the run to Newport is a bit long from there. A bit shorter from Allen Harbor tho, not really farther than to Ft Getty by much
