I fished the NW corner of Stellwagon Bank in 100 – 125 FOW with two friends Paul and Ed. We started fishing with clams & jigs; the jigs were working the best. We found very large areas of bait and picked up mainly small cod in the 22 – 26 inch range. The sands eels were ever where sometimes even breaking water around the boat. Most of all the cod we landed had many large sand eels in their mouths. We also had good catches of mackerel that were hitting the teasers above this jig. We later moved to deeper water approx. 175 feet and caught a few nice haddock. Overall we managed about 10 nice haddock and 15 keeper cod. |
