What have you got to say about the topic of: "Heavy weight Popper". Here's how is started: "Here is a special order popper I got from someone down in the Gulf of "

| Heavy weight Popper Here is a special order popper I got from someone down in the Gulf of Mexico. He wanted a black acrylic popper that was 3.5 oz. This is what I came up with: He's using it for throwing at Breaking Tuna with heavy spinning gear. How's it look? Armand Last edited by RI Popper; 03-03-2007 at 04:45 PM. |

| Saw some the other week from Japan but they were in the 6-8 oz size. Have to throwwith spectra though or the lure won't work right. Too much stretch in mono. |

8 oz. that's crazy, what kind of pole do you need to throw it?? Telephone Pole. I could make them that heavy but WOW didn't think there would be a need. Thanks Daryl Armand | |

| Yeah, sounds crazy. But when you see a 100 lb yellowfin crash it it's awesome. I did have a hard time casting it too. 130 lb shock cord tied to a spool of 100 lb spectra on the Shimano Stella. Felt like the tip of my finger was getting peeled of. And yes, addicting this is. |

| Looks good Armand! Almost as big as the swimmer I showed you. Got one here I'm working on (maple) pushing 10 ounces. Casting it with a Lami SB121-5M and a Newell 229-5. Casts a mile and without much effort. ![]() ![]() ![]()
