Just a quick note:
Great thread and we'll get a good list going.....
But bear in mind for those with "limited budgets" or space....
Weigh your options and weigh the importance of items in your own personal case to see what to bring.
For Example:
If you have an EPIRB like the GlobalFix with built in GPS (not necessarily PLB, but the full-fledged unit) and a good raft, chances are you'll be found rather quickly, so you want to make sure you AT LEAST have items to carry you through a somewhat "short" wait......water, first aid, flare kits w/mirrors, etc.....also like Dave's idea on the streamer!
Just food for thought so you know you don't have to go "overboard" too
