2 for 5

We left the dock at 3:00 am arrived at the sw corner at 4:45 am and it was already a floating city of of red green and white lights with all lines in by 5:00 we had a boil within 15 minutes then within an hour landed our 1st fish 46 inches half hour later another fish this one lost at the boat within an hour another take down this fish broke a release clip and pulled the hook approx an hour and a half later fish #2 boated 48 inches a little later in the morning we headed east for some sharking with two other boats only one blue shark 8-9 ft and they pulled the hook at the boat

Congrats

You're not kidding it was a parking lot out there. We had lines in at 5am and already had to be careful of other boats. Could barely get 100 yards without 4-5 boats intersecting at once by the time it hit 7am. Congrats on the fish as a we heard a few boats hooking up early...unfortunately we were not one of them. Next time!

I got there yesterday at 6:40 am. It was a zoo!!!

No joy for me. I came too late to the party and the "cake" was already gone. At 1 pm I gave up. While I cleaned the cockpit, my 9 year did manage to jig up a nice 29 pound bass which saved the day.

Congrats on the tuna!!!

5 hookups is impressive. there is such a small window to get these fish there right now. then add in all the boats trying to fish the same area...the odds are stacked against you for sure. we were there early too and managed to go 1 for 1, a 50" fish. there is a temptation to leave all the lines in with the 1st fish on as that fight eats up a lot of the precious short window to get multiple fish. but with all the boats around it's hard enough to maneuver the fish out of the mess w/out worrying about the spread at the same time. either way it's still a blast!

There's bigger fish out there

We found this little fella a couple weeks ago. Any reports of GBFTs?
