Attn Bluefin Fishermen...UNH Tag-a-tiny program

The UNH Large Pelagics Research Center is running some workshops where they train fishermen the correct techniques for handling, tagging & releasing bluefin. They also distribute tags & tag sticks at the workshop.

Unfortunately, there is no workshop scheduled for RI/SE MA/CT. However, they will come to you if you put together 10 people. This seems like it would be easy to do. Who would be interested in attending this type of workshop? Who has an idea of where it could be held? (kind of depends on how many). Post up here if you're interested & where you're located.

Here is a link to workshop info: http://members.cox.net/misfitboys/TAT.pdf

I would be interested if it was in Central CT shorline area. I think we could put 10 guys together. Does it cost anything?

This is a good program. I saw this presentation a month ago at the Green Harbor Tuna Club meeting. Nuno's a good guy with some interesting data to share. I've been tagging shorts with NMFS tags for a few years, and I gather the info. sharing between the various tagging programs isn't so great. Too bad, because over the years I've used NMFS, ALS, and TBF tags in various fish. This year all the small tuna will get tags from this program.
