I am planning on running to block island from falmouth tomorrow thru sunday with my wife and 2 kids (4 and 6).....2 questions... 1) Im hearing some bad things bout marina (rafting boats 5 deep, no guarentee of power, etc)....any insite???? 2) Going from falmouth harbor to block....wondering about the opportunity to see some whales/dolphins along the way....something to keep the kids entertained over our 52 mile run kinda wish i was making a canyon run instead....weather looks perfect...but once again, the kids win out... | ||

| If busy, they will definitely raft boats 4 to 5 deep -- leaving many without power. | ||

| Its been a little slower on BI this year, but plan to be rafted unles syou are a huge boat paying bigger docking dollars. Doubt you will see whales, BI is only 11 miles off the coast. If you get the chance to fish, very good fluke fishing right outside of New Harbor, and good bass onthe Southwest Ledge about 3 miles outside New Harbor.

| Payne's was the same when we were there 2 weeks ago, boats 3-4 deep. Very busy little harbor. Last I heard most signs of life were a little to the S, Mudhole-FB area. | ||

| We slipped at Paynes this past weekend. We didn't ask for power, but we were not rafted. We got a slip.Definately call ahead for a reservation.I think we paid $75 for a 25 ft boat. There are a few whales around, but they were all South of the Fairway bouy,as of last Sunday.Unfotunately, there were ABSOLUTELY NO TUNA with them.Have a safe and fun trip. | ||

| we stayed from sunday to yesterday. had dockage for a 23 ft and had a room. they we pretty dead as far as they consider it. definatley call ahead. its a great place for the kids as there are a lot of activities. it isn't cheap though. I was concerned with some bad reviews I read but had a great time with no complaints. a few whales a few miles south of the fairway. no tuna sunday or yeasterday. Posted Via Mobile Device | ||

| Whales are south of Block (S of the Fairway Bouy). Out there in decent numbers too (Finback, Minkhe, Pilot), along with doplhins, but the whales are more common. Seen dozens this year, in only 2 trips over the last 3 weeks. | ||
