we headed out of bourn(tailers point marina) on our 28 carolina classic record sea-ker@3:15 am. in search of charlie!we were heading to stellwagon bank!first bluefin trip of the year!capt rich was @the helm kevin simon and my self were setting up the deck stoked we were not @ our regular jobs! we get to the bank and lines in!it took us a bit first run and all!it seemed like seconds later a the rigger went off bluefish@6:30 center rigger goes and right rigger goes!double take down!kev grabed center rigger i grab right!what excitement!kev drops his fishbut i still have mine!kev puts power play belt on me !game on!charlie stripped about 250 yards of line!kev and richie bring all the lines in rod and squid rigs everywere!looked like a bomb went off!after 30 min fight we had charlie at the boat!the poon harpoon was our weapon.kev and richie pull the fishin.66 in 185lb and my first bluefin!what a blast!we were using 13in black bar chartuse stinger!we had so much fun we headed back out on friday.we left the dock at noon with a new crew member rich ricker.we get ower lines wet.3 big blues at 3:30 fish on!ricker angles fish while richie record is at helm kev and myself are in the pit!the gaff is tool of choice fish was smaller!53in 90-100lb!nice!black bar again!2 trips 2 fish!the crew was awsome and we had a blast!get out ther guys its tuna time!time for the tuna two step!dont forget wasabi!
