frances fleet tuna bottom fish report

October 5th 7am
The last several Overnight Tuna trips featured steady action with some nice size Yellowfin and quite a few Albacore. A considerable number of the fish taken have been slamming jigs. There have been a few Mahi and an occasional hookup with Mako Sharks. The Inshore Tuna action has been a bit slower although Capt. Ted brought a 190lb Mako to the boat on Saturday's outing. Tuna fishing continues through the end of October.
Capt. Richie reported a pretty good day of fishing on Wednesday. Anglers had some very nice size Seabass and lots of big Scup. All anglers went home happy with plenty of fish for the table. There were a few small codfish again. No bottom fishing today due to the very windy conditions. Blackfish/Tatoug trips are set to begin October 28th at 6am and return around 4pm. The sailing schedule will be five days a week fishing Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and the Weekend. Early reports indicate there are already lots of hungry blackfish willing to accomodate anglers so we look forward to another great season with these hard fighting, crustacean crushing critters which make for some of the best table fare local waters has to offer.
