New Sled for Coastal Charters

Meet the newest edition to Coastal Charters Sportfishing:

Custom built Ray Hunt design. Her name prior to my acquiring was Whiptail, sort of appropriate for me, so she stays!

26 feet with a monster 9.5 foot beam, twin Mercury 225 Optimax engines. 845 quart fish coffin. Stepped hull, top speed of over 65 MPH!!! 210 gallon total fuel, amazing range. Can't wait to get some blood on her.

Really nice ride Capt. Look forward to spotting her on the water. Was this a local boat?

She was acquired out of Key West, FL.....I saved a ton of money by buying south, as the resale values are just not what they get up here. The price was just too good to pass up!

The boat was almost turn key, all I needed was a life raft, Type I PFDs, and a throw ring to make her compliant. One owner, 1990 Hull, completely restored in 2006/2007. Engines even have 2 years left on warranty!! The fish box is the biggest I have ever seen, extends 6 inches below the decks, plumbed with macerator, good insulation. No more coolers on the deck!!!

I will be trailering this boat up and down the eastern seaboard. Team Bite Me(Glenn, Anthony and myself) will be entering quite a few tourneys on her, along with setting a few new junior angler records.

Fortuna is gone, just tooooo expensive for me to continue using her. Sold to a couple of guys who plan on chartering her out of Long Island somewhere. She was a great boat, but at less than 1 MPG, and the need for a mate, it was just not feasible.

Dom,

Looks like a great boat, can't wait to see you screaming along in the bay chasing those tuna this year. Good Luck with her.

I found that the Contender was much better suited to my fishing style, and chose her for the last 4 canyon overnighters of 2007 over the express. I like the fishability of the CC, you can use the entire boat as opposed to just the cockpit, so you will see this black beauty out there prowling the canyons, for sure. Not to mention the speed allows for running out on shorter weather windows.

Glenn, I was thinking the same thing, one of those wraps sure would look sweet on her. Maybe we'll get it done right after we win OB this year
