OB MS "STORMY WEATHER" report

Hey All sorry for the delay. As Andy said just getting back into my groove.

Fished on Stormy Weather again with Capt. Jack ,Brian,Phill and myself.
We had a slow 1st day only catching two blues( that we tagged) but had plenty in the slick.
Day two we made some changes in water temp area but still fishing was slow.I had been talking with Capt. Dom and he said they were on a nice break and not alot of boats around come on over soo we took his offer.
Maybe 45 min into the drift blues started to show and swim up to the baits. We watched as one came and then was gone 5 min later he was back but this time his eyes were solid black and his nose was very pointed.
I watched from the bridge as she ate the whole bluefish bait and swam away.Brian got set up on the rod and Jack and Phill cleared the other lines.I told the crew to be ready for the jump and as I did I pulled out my camera.Brian reeled in the slack and came tight on the fish and out of the water she came three awesome jumps.I just started clicking away in the general area.
Brian got settled in and we kept the mako off the boat a ways to try to wear her down. The battle went on for a little over an hour and then we saw color but it was white? the shark was tailwrapped from the jumps I guess. We had a small struggle and almost lost the shark at boatside but we got a second shot and got her.
I called Capt, Dom to give him the good news and he wanted the length.I told him she was about 74 " he told us should go around 179.We were keeping her anyway but thought there were no other makos yet on day two so we decided to weight her in. 180lbs Good guess Dom.

pictures will tell the rest !!!!!!

I did win a Int. 50 2 speed at the raffle.

Big thanks to our crew Capt. Dom and (on the edge ) for some prep help.It was nice to see NBS well represented again.Capt Bill Brown, Dan Stewart,Glenn and Anthony and Brian ,Andy sorry we never hooked up but I will see you next year!

Nice job Curt!!!! Great pics............I love the pic with you two posing next to the "do gooders" LMAO!!!

Man what a turn out!!!! It's obvious that an event to that magnitude draws in the good and the bad. Anything for them to get publicity!!!

Curt, Nice Pics, gotta love those twisting backflips. Sounds like you and the other NBS Boys had a good time.. I was happy to help and will again if needed. Congrats to you, Capt & crew on weighing a fish only 3 years into the tourney. Dom is right that is and acomplishment in itself.. Next year it will be a money fish..
