| we are fishing with Rush maltz (seen often on spanish fly), steve rodger (spear one), and Tony Murphy (key limey).... The plan is to fish Tarpon Wednesday early evening...2 of our tarpon flat boat guides are local vineyard guys (Jamie Boyle and Tom Repon) Thurday (10-15knot winds) will be a sailfish/permit day Friday (<10kt winds) will be perfect for blackfin tuna action in the gulf Friday night (weather willing)...Swordie night Saturday probably another offshore day | ||

got back a couple days ago....fishing was ok...but not lights out. The tarpon run was plagued with high winds and a slow bite...we did hook up a few times around the docks/pilings..but virtually impossible to bring fish out from under pilings... had some fantastic permit fishing off the reefs...some over 20lbs, caught tons of snapper/grouper, had a few sails, a tuna or two....some decent amberjacks, sharks, cudas, etc.... didnt get a chance to fish blackfin in the gulf as there were no shrimp boats around.....and swordies were out as winds were too high most of the nghts.... But, great guides, lots of fish, lots of sun, and cool stuff to see.....pix to follow | ||

| Thanks for the good report! Too bad about the swords/wind and blackfin outings but it sure beat being back here and there's a reason to get back there. Look forward to the pictures!
