The other White meat

OK don't know what i'm doing on this Shark post I'm a Tuna Fisherman !! But Here is a thresher from sunday. 50 fathoms, wt.58.9 degrees, bait herring. fish is about 73" (without whip) Measured on side of waterline. The second pic. is crappy because he/she rolled with head straight down. (my superior photography) . If the line looks big, it is 300#. BTW he was released.

Hey: Jeff, What ever do you mean ???. I have some pics. in my other camera but the way i'm fishing it will be winter before i use all 24 pics. .

Eric, Of course I meant to .........NOT ! lol. No what happened was we were fishing ok for about an hour till a friend came out with a Shark Charter and hung about 30 yds. off my transom. I don't think he paid attention to the tide. It was quite unusual Sunday. We had a Northerd wind and a tide from Southerd, not usual for out there. So you can guess the rest, yes we were in his chum line(Anchored) and although he drifted away south he left his chum line. And a great one it was..

Just about the time I saw all the Dogfish coming I marked him sleeking along at 24 fathoms, Right where my out bait was. Wached him come up to the spot that was my bait and saw it disappear, looked at the rod and Yup, down it goes. About 15 min. on 60# drag. he was beating the side of the boat. No jumps, no leaps, no errors. Almost stuck him but thought for a minute and nope, save em for somebody who wants him.

Dom, All i can say is I am glad for the people who enjoy catching them. BUT.........Untill i find one that can rip off 200 yds. at 35# drag in 10 to 15 seconds and do that back forth for an hour or two, Than i'll think about it . I think it would be ok on lighter gear but 130st and unlimited rod in a rod holder, not much fun. . All that said beats just watching the sounder.
