our first thresher 7/12

our second shark trip of the season tuned out to be a good one .we landed a 242 lb thresher, our first ever! we trailered to R.I. and set out to shark ledge for a few blue sharks and a lot of bluefish were around.we moved to the northern part of the gully for a couple more blue sharks.we decidedto move again.we headed south of the gully to find some bluer water . as we traveled we noticed a temp change from 67ish to 70 we turned around and went back a mile, set our baits and he was on within five minutes.12 noon we headed in.we weighed it in at snug harbor marina.being new to this game i would apreciate any info on spots to fish out of R.I..i fish a 23ft center console and have to pick our days . a 2 hr ride in the truck is worth only 30 mile ride on the boat to fish.last season we launched from new london to fish out of montauk,a much longer boat ride!we come from guilford ct. i hope to figure out this computer thing better and post some pics soon!

SHARK

Nice Catch! We were fishing just south of the gully as well. We released 7 blue sharks and broke one mako off. Have you ever thought of getting a slip in this area? You don't have to go to far for shark if your based along the eastern ct/ RI border. Ryans Horn, Mudhole, Tuna Ridge, Gully, Butterfish Hole just to name a few. Good luck.
