Mike, they have to be hosted on-line somewhere already to show them. You can do it here through your user gallery or go to Photobucket.com, get a free account and add any pictures you want. After that each picture will have its own address. Paste those into the thread by using the button that looks like a little mountain in the message toolbar.

Or if you want I can send you a PM with my e-mail address and I'll post them up for you, thanks for the info, looking forward to pics. Let me know.

First pic is The planer rod......

Second pic is The Braid to the swivel, to mono, then the planer.....

Third and fourth pics is Mono crimped to the swivel with the loop crimped to connect the "tag line" with snap sivels on each end..

Fifth is rubber band wraped around main line then snaped to other end of the "tag line"

Sixth is the whole rig as it is when being fished, the planer on the bottom, then loop and tag line connected to the main line, above the the swivel tied to the braid on planer rod...

OK.... Are those vids of the yellowfin planer system or the way to fish them for Bluefin?????..........By the way the rig I showed was the way WAHOONBOX ran the planers when he worked my Cockpit for the whole month of January in Morehead City.... He is the best mate and knows more about planers than anyone.......

There are 2 diffrent planer systems... THOSE VIDS ARE EXCELLENT in showing the way to fish the planer rod with a in-line planer for Yellows and Wahoo...

The system I showed was for using 2 differents rods.. 1 for the planer and 1 for the actual rod.... It would be hard to fight a Bluefin with a planer rod !!!

My bad guys, I breezed over the thread and didn't read all the details. I didn't see we were onthe 2 rod setup. Just the planer rod that caught my eye. Both great rigs by WAHOONBOX. Sorry for the derailing

Great read on the planer rod set up. I spent a week with Capt. Mike fishing for the giants in January down in North Carolina, great trip. After a couple times of seeing the set up and deployment of the planer with the Box I saw how usefull a system it is.

A couple recomendations, when you connect the tag line to main line use two good quality rubberbands. A lot tension is put on this point and you do not want to spend time setting up agian if it breaks. You must deploy the planer rod and your main rod at the same time, remember how deep the the planer rod is out. As Capt. Mike mentioned, he has colored line to measure the desired depth that he wants to fish at.

I am sure that Capt. Mike can make a list of tips and tricks on this set up if asked. Can not wait til the Northeast season kicks off on the Bluefin to get the planer set up in action.
