Relentless lives up to its name

Yesterday I had the pleasure of boarding the Relentless with Capt. Curt, his father Charlie, Friend John, and Marty (scurge). The invite could not have come at a better time, as me and Marty planned on fishing east of Chatham but the forecasted winds quickly canceled those plans.

A quick ride to the bank and just as we were pulling the bars out of their bags (and wiping frost off the squids, WTF!) the fish came up big time 200 yards off the bow and we got to be the first ones on it- 5 minutes into trolling a BIG swing, but he didnt come tight.... 10 more minutes and there was a fatty ripping drag off a Tiagra wide. Johnny got strapped in to this one to brutally pop his tuna cherry.

I grabbed one of the other rods to move it to the other side of the boat to keep lines from getting crossed and it gets hit- drag screaming- I hand the rod off to Charlie but the fish pulls the hook.

20 minutes later John gets to crack into a well deserved victory Bud Light. 57 1/2 inch-39 inch girth. The seas got brutal and the call was made to head in.

A big thank you goes out to Curt, and crew as well as other NBS'ers who extended an invite to fish with them today.

Welcome Aboard

Fred,

Wlecome aboard and sorry I could not make it. I look forward to meeting you and congratulations on your fish. I was going to go today but the forecast was a littel bouncy. I wake up and no wind at all. Oh well, what can you do. Maybe going tomorrow to give it another shot even though the forecast is once again windy.

Dave

yeah, I spoke to a friend on the swc an hour ago and he said it was nice and calm, the way things looked out there yesterday I think there are going to be plenty more opportinities to get em again.

Hey Now

Hey guys Sorry for the late post and thanks for all the kind words.

Friday was a day I am still smiling about great crew,Johns first tuna,Cold beer and lots of laughs.

It was very nice to go fishing with fisherman.I would think about something and turn around and it was done.

Jonh and (sinkerman) Dad were the only two left on our crew that were tuna virgins. So we all agreed that they would take the rods. We had a nice double hookup but one fish pulled the hook.John did a great job on his fish and after a nice 27 min battle Fred (seaworm1) sunk the gaff into this nice fat fish (scurge) Marty was at the helm for most of the fight and did a great job.

Back at the dock the guys went to work cleaning the boat, rods, rigs and the beer cooler.
Capt. Dom came by to say hello on his new ride SWEET!

Thanks guys for a great day.
