Relentless Tuna 8-16

Fished thursday early morning with the Martin (Buster) Parlon group. Capt Dave had told us if we wanted the bite we had to leave early. We were off the dock @ 4:30am and had lines in by 5:50 and a very large look at the starboard bar at 6:05 what a splash! At 6:10 the port rigger gets nailed Fish On!!

After about 25 min battle Capt.Dave sinks the gaff and we slide our first fish through the tuna door 48 inches and fat. This was Dean's first tuna!!!

Lines back in 6:45 the center short gets hit and a very short 8 minute fight before I gaff the second fish for big Kevin almost a twin @ 48 1/2 inches. This was also Kevins first BlueFin Tuna.

Both fish were caught before 7:00 am and the bite shut off for us. We did try for bass at the race and picked a few but nothing great.
This group was made up of friends of mine and my dad that had been wanting to check out Daves boat and see me and Capt.Dave in action and I am grateful that the fish Gods shined on us this morning. I think the smiles tell all!!!!!

the whales also put on a great show for this group .

Thanks Dave.

Capt Curt,
Good to see you are back out there. Congrats on putting some friends on some fish.. Ones first tuna is always the sweetest

Hoopa and I were going to go out east tomorrow but have changed our plans due to weather and may try for the bank weather permiting.

Give a hollar on 68 for On The Edge or Hoopa if you are out..

Awesome morning

I'll be set-up on Peaked Hill Sunday Morning at O'Dark hundred (2:30AM) to fish the 4:11AM slack tide for giants. Were you guys on Stellwagon? Whereabouts?
