RELENTLESS tuna and more 6-20

We did not have a charter on friday and with the tuna bite on and a full moon tide we decided to head out for employee day.Off the dock at 4:45 and got our spread set up. Our crew was made up of me my dad ,Shaun and his friend Doug, Hans and his daughter Nicole.
The morning went slow with alot of blues and one nice 38" striper. We did see some nice bait balls and lots of whales but couldn't find the tuna.

At about 12:15 the short center bar gets crushed and its game on I happened to be standing in front of the rod.The crew cleared the lines and after a short battle Hans and Shaun boated my first bluefin tuna as an angler. The fish was 52".We had brought a ton of ice so after the fish was bled and hydrogutted she was packed in a nice saltwater ice brine for the trip home.

We landed a few more nice stripers and after the tide we hooked our second tuna that Shaun did battle with. This fish hit the same rig.but I didn't see the strike.
This fish was a twin to mine.We opened up the tuna door and pulled him in for quick photo's unhook and nice healthy release.

Thanks to the crew for another great day.

Too bad the owner, Capt Dave had to work. He would have loved to be there for this trip. Oh well, I am glad you guys had another great trip.

Thanks Brad

Brad,

Thanks for throwing up that cover shot of that captain smiling. He deserves to catch a few now and then. Great job Curt and crew.
