That is wild!!! Two summers ago I remember a school of BF busting all over the fluke grounds on the South facing beaches. I also remember a story about a YFT washing up on the beach off Charlestown while it was in a feeding frenzy

two summers ago there were consistent dense catchable pods of school bft from montauk to cuttyhunk for over month. often within a couple hundred yards of the coast.

As long as I can remember there have always been reports of exotics/tropicals off the coast of rhody in late summer.

I remember 2 years ago I was fluking on the Frances Fleet and there were blue fin all around the boat and then we saw a fin pop out of the water it turned out to be a 100lb sword fish that came within 10feet from the stern of the boat. On top of the show on the surface the fluking was very good that day as well.

Also 2 or 3 years ago i was fishing out at Block when a guy on the southeast corner hooked a 75# Halibut......fought it 45 minutes and had it to the boat 3 times before it broke off.

Last year a friend of mine caught several cod at the southeast corner on umbrellas LOL......

Never know what you'll run into and where.
