sharkin' 7/3- ryan's horn

Took my buddy up on his offer to go sharkin' on tuesday.
Left for the point on monday night, beautiful conditions and put a bunch of fresh bluefish in the boat. LEft the dock at 4pm from the basin and headed out to the inner butterfish hole to start a troll towards the horns. it was a little bumpy from the overnight winds from the NW but nothing unbearable. set ot 6 lines and trolled for about 10 miles, Nothing, not even a blue, which was a little concerning. was hopoing for a bit more life in the water. Reports have been good from the area, so we started our drift just before the tip of the horn. perfect drift, went about 4 miles right down the center and then over the edge, nothing but Blue Sharks. 8 total, fun for the two boys, but my buddy and I were hoping for something to put on the table.
Shut down at 2, and trolled back to the inner buttterfish hole, Nothing. Saw one pod of bluefin busting around birds, but they disappeared.
All in all, beautiful day out, much better than sitting at home for sure. Things should light up in the next week, hopefully the boat will be in and fishing the upcoming tournament.
